Amna AlSager studied architecture at the University of Southern California, graduating in 2010 Cum Laude and on the USC Dean’s Honour List.

Upon Graduation, Amna joined Foster + Partners head office in London, UK to work on the Kuwait International Airport Terminal 2 project, a new 630,000m2 passenger terminal designed to achieve LEED Gold. Her other principal projects included a 300m high headquarters tower for the National Bank of Kuwait and the AlSager Diwan, both in Kuwait City. In 2014, Amna relocated to Kuwait, joining the site team for the construction supervision phase of NBK Tower. This was followed by the construction supervision of the AlSager Diwan where Amna was the lead project architect.

After the challenge of delivering exceptional architectural projects on site in Kuwait, Amna and Kai decided to combine their talent, skill and experience to found AlSager Wertel Architects (AWA).

Born and raised in the Middle East, and continuing her education and professional career abroad, Amna has a strong understanding of regionalism and traditional principles of design, and an acquired knowledge of the technical aspects of architecture. The merging of these fields forms the basis of Amna’s approach to architectural design.
